ULTRAMARINES Movie Teaser – coming soon!
The long-awaited teaser, featuring the very first segment of finished animation, will go live on the movie website on Saturday 29 May – but you’ll have to be registered and logged in to view it (and, to be ready, you can do so here).
We hope it’ll give you a real sense of the amazing quality of the animation, and the look of the film. But – not surprisingly – it won’t give away much more!

the teaser was a bit short, but as far as i could see the power armor looked great, a lott of details and i realy liked the animation. Keep up the good work Codex and GW!
um the ultramarine s are only
um the ultramarine s are only so good because there are so many of them. i read that in the first hourus heresy book. also how come in none of the movies games workshop has made or attempted the imperial guard or orks or eldar are the main character. its always been space marines.

This is the very first movie on 40k. Your "examples" are fan made stuff. And that HH info on the Ultramarines is taken out of context... Horus Heresy context.

Disappointed
I hardly call quoting lines pretty much straight out of 40K fluff a teaser as a close up is drawn to a single Marine. How is that a showcasing the quality of the animation? About the only animation was a blowing purity seal.
Why does it say it's the 2nd company? Cato Sicarius leads the 2nd company, not Captain Severus. The shoulder trim looked black to me, not the gold or yellow of the 2nd, so is this actually the 5th company?

Just watched the teaser, an yea got the shiver down the spine a lil but yea did leave me like what...??? that's it, need more... need more... lol; but hey I can wait for the next one they do that will give us all goosebumps.

First I would like to note that I saw nothing. I expected to see space marines in action, and here we got a bad picture of what is to come, Space Marine shown not only that it is stationary its appearance leaves much to be desired, poor quality graphics can not hope for this in what I was waiting, I'm disappointed ...

Teaser was short and uneventful but i think the marine looks good. good detail. either way a 40k movie is amazing no matter how it pans out. Tyranids please.

I noticed the teaser showed "2010". Does this mean that the full movie will be released this year?

What was that crap! It showed nothing that we all want to see e.g how they are fighting with, And at the end where they say the gratest of them all is the Ultramarines what crap the Dark Angels are the first born and there for are the oldest and the gratest.
I am looking forward to see the movie as much as the next person but show us some thing better then what you have please.

agreed with a few others ......this wasnt much of a teaser.....can we get a bit more next time maybe a brief fight sequence something epic to keep us hanging on.
Though the Power Armor looked awesome good work on the art it looked great as far as animation.

Looks great! Its about time some one with vision transformed this epic universe into film! I cannot wait to see more! I know this is a teaser but I wanted some VIOLENCE! (maybe next time?) Also I TOTALLY called Terrance Stamp being a space marine many years back. Its cool to see others have like thinking. Finally I would like to thank everyone involved with this production! Keep up the great work, like John Blanche says every model is an opportunity for greatness, likewise every frame will be an opportunity for greatness. Please don't rush this.
BTW I WANT TERMINATORS! A LOT OF THEM!!

I suppose we will have to wait to see automatic explosive bolter fire but that is to be expectedsince they do not want to reveal anything yet (normally this does not happen with the blogs and fan input).

The trailer was good. Good visuals, good sound, good scripting. Except for one thing. "They are the Space Marines, and the greatest of them all are the Ultramarines." *COUGH COUGH* I think that was just needless posturing. Anybody who plays the game who has experience of anything but the smurfs will tell you- they are not the greatest. Simples.
Other than that, good job, but do a longer one next time, with a bit more...movement. All that moved was the Purity Seal flapping in the wind, although that was indeed very realistic.

Its really up to who likes which chapter when statements are made about who is the "greatest chapter". But this was an Ultramarines captain speaking. Do you really think an Ultramarine wouldnt say they were the best?
A Trailer For Ultramarines
me and my friends all gathered round in barbeque chairs and had popcorn on our laps and coke and beer and we plugged my comp up to the tv and unplugged the phones and fax machine and waited till the garbage man left and we wacthed... the trailer had good words, good background and good voice over, but it was a let down. the space marine coming into the picture was too overstylised and not plain enough in my opinion. his face was perfect but the armour was too detailed. too many edges and shiny bits and icons takes the users imagination away from the space marine and more to the little icons and symbols on him.
i think the space marine and his icon for the emperor and his icon for his chapter should be the things to stick in your face and draw your attention to the main topics, the space marine behind it all and his suit of space marine armour. not the golden trim around his other golden trim or the lines AROUND the 'skull and wings' on his chest. Your imagination should be thinking about his big, battle ready, chunky, practical space marine armour. even if he had his helmet on to draw attention away from the little things and see the bigger picture of the space marine as a whole.

I understand what the meaning of "teaser" is, but when you declared it a teaser to show off some of the amazing quality of the animation, I had hoped for... well, animation! It was indeed a bit static, but who knows, one teaser will certainly not be the end of it. Still Excited!

And a great voice, i did'nt recognize because i'm not english, but he is very understandable to me and very cool.

Definetly a teaser:). I like the look of the armour and the scared face. The eyes look cool, like they've "seen things". Not sure about the liver spots on the head though. (my first impression of them). I for one like what I've seen. Can't wait to see more.

While I know it's still early
While I know it's still early in production, perhaps a bit more could have gone into a teaser. It's a bit static and doesn't really give you a sense of anything really.
I do look forward to seeing more when it's available, and looking forward to the feature when it's complete. This just was a lot less than expected.

Just what I expected
Codex, good job. Keep us hungry. Severus looked a lot like Terence Stemp! And the wizened look on Severus was good, one that hinted of a few centuries of service. I liked the teaser very much.

Ok folks good call on the actors, and the artistry is awesome, but I believe everybody wanted to see a little of a fight or action, granted the work is good, would like a copy of the captain to hang in my room, but he breathed, that's it, he didn't even pull a sword or a Bolter for us to see. believe me when I say take your time on this make it the best you can, but your announcing of a trailer followed by this was not exactly a good move, give us a little bit more folks maybe just the captain being preped for action with a servitors help,
maybe him speaking to the company or speaking a litany of battle as he preps his gear, what you showed us was what all of us can see on black library's website, great fade into the captain but does he move?

just a teaser, only 1 beef from the age of the marine he should have more than 1 service stud (they are 50 years service studs afaik) and considering how aged the marine was, and their superhuman bodys he should be atleast 150 years in service.

I'm slightly let down, generally nothing special, the teaser shows nothing apart from standing space marine, probably looking at the battlefield. I hoped to see Space Marines in the fight. The armour looks not bad but I hoped to see more details and to see marine in action. Waiting for more...

The graphics look great and if that is something to go by the rest should be excellent. On another note, "Teaser" come on, 5 seconds of an Ultramarine, barely blinking, in a slight breeze, now that really is a tease, bit more movement would have been nice ;-)

Wow... to sum it up: "bad smoke effects, an old man with a quiver lip in power armor that has less detail than Gears of War xbox game, along with a flowing honors ribbon on shoulder due to appearent wind while we hear some voice over."
This is hardly what I would call a teaser... the voice acting is true quality, and I give props there... but I went and looked up the definition of "Teaser" as it relates to movies on Webster.com, just to make sure I wasn't off the mark with my expectations... for the masses, it states, "an advertising or promotional device intended to arouse interest or curiosity especially in something to follow"

If your intention was to arouse interest, i think you missed the mark. If you want to get my excitement up, show me some action. The opening sequence in Dawn of War had more animation and action in it. I'm expecting Ork kans, Marines taking a hill, lascannons, heavy bolters and chain swords, a power fist would be nice or even a thunderhammer smacking home. A thunderhawk transport dropping in a land raider, and perhaps a Xenos threat or two flashed before our eyes... now that would give us something to talk about and that would generate interest. Some die hard action, explosions and something to rattle the base speakers a bit...
I've played this game since Rogue Trader... I know the fictional history, I've played the electronic games, and I've supported the brand. I have high hopes for this movie, honestly, the teaser failed to hit the mark. It failed miserably.

the best thing about it was John Hurt's voice, but, then, he could read a telephone directory and make it sound great.

Animation
Honestly the animation is a let down too. I was expecting something akin to the Dawn of War II intro. This looks more like the little cut-scenes from the first two Fallout games. The Captain's skin looked so...heavy. I don't know how to describe it. It just didn't look real.

Just watched the new teaser trailer. I know it was perhaps a little too brief to draw conclusion on the look of the marines, but overall proportioning of the charatcer didnt look as heroic as id hoped. I was hoping theyd look a little more like the Astartes in the dawn of war 2 intro.
Was great to hear John Hurts voice though.
